On the move
I'm on the move!
After four amazing years leading the Critical Digital Humanities Initiative at the University of Toronto, today is my last day.
I spent June with my head down in CDHI's final annual report. This was an opportunity to reflect on how much our initiative grew and developed.
When I joined in September 2021, we had one postdoc and a newsletter. We grew to a team of 11 in 2024, ramped down to a team of five this year. We designed and delivered 90+ workshops and events, built 21 custom digital projects for public dissemination of humanities research, and trained 60+ scholars in digital research storytelling methods. We built a network of 56 faculty and librarians at UofT and distributed $1.2M in research grants and fellowships.
It was a lot!
While writing a report about how CDHI grew and changed, I realized that a great deal had happened for me in the past four years as well.
Of course I made a comic about it!
In July, I started a new role at CIFAR. More on that soon.
Here's to all of the wonderful and unexpected places the past four years took me and to the unknown awesome things ahead π
